OPROEP deelname Thesisprijs 2011-2012 Vlaamse Regulator voor de Media

De Vlaamse Regulator voor de Media gaat op zoek naar een opvolger voor het bekroonde werk van Natalie Van Hemelen. Ook dit jaar organiseert de VRM weer zijn Thesisprijs !

Met de organisatie van deze thesisprijs wenst de VRM het onderzoek naar onderwerpen die aansluiten bij zijn werkzaamheden te stimuleren. De winnaar van de thesisprijs ontvangt een geldsom van 1.500 euro. Voor de tweede en derde is een geldprijs van 250 euro voorzien.

Elke student die afstudeert in een media-, marketing-, economische-, communicatiegerichte of juridische opleiding kan met zijn of haar thesis/masterproef, waarvoor men minstens 14/20 heeft gehaald , deelnemen aan de �Thesisprijs Vlaamse Regulator voor de Media�. De thesis/masterproef dient een onderwerp te behandelen dat aansluit bij de werkzaamheden van de Vlaamse Regulator voor de Media. Inschrijven kan tot en met 1 oktober 2012. 2012-09-07 - Popthesisprijs 2012

Zoals ieder jaar reiken wij bij Poppunt (vzw, aanspreekpunt voor muzikanten, dj's en producers in Vlaanderen) de Popthesisprijs uit. We doen dit omdat we onderzoek in het domein van de muziek (in de zeer brede zin van het woord) enerzijds willen stimuleren en anderzijds willen verzamelen en ontsluiten. Elk eindwerk geschreven door een student aan een Vlaamse hogeschool of universiteit in het academiejaar 2011-2012 komt in aanmerking voor de Popthesisprijs 2012. De enige voorwaarde is dat het werk handelt over popmuziek of het brede muzieklandschap. Of het nu vanuit een juridische, communicatieve, pedagogische of bedrijfskundige insteek is.

2012-07-10 - Studentenprijs Liga voor Mensenrechten

Samen met de redacties van het Tijdschrift voor Mensenrechten en Fatik, reikt de Liga voor Mensenrechten in 2012 een studentenprijs uit. We willen daarmee de beste bachelor- of masterproef met een mensenrechtelijke invalshoek bekronen.

De studentenprijs omvat zowel een publicatie in ��n van onze tijdschriften als ook een geldprijs van 500 euro. Bachelor- of masterproeven uit het vorige of het huidige academiejaar mogen ingediend worden, de deadline hiervoor is 10 juli 2012.

De voorwaarden om deel te nemen en verdere details zijn terug te vinden in het reglement (zie bijlage).

On behalf of Model NATO Youth Summit 2012, I have the pleasure to announce you the opening for delegations recruitment. We would like to invite your students to take part in our event, therefore please disseminate the information below, as well as our attached document.

Model NATO Youth Summit is be the largest simulation of the NATO decision-making process in Europe, to be held in Brussels, from the 8th to 13th of July 2012. This first edition�s central theme is the �Political responsibility through leadership, innovation and strategic thinking in the XXIst century�. MoNYS 2012 will bring together 29 delegations, representing 221 participants from both Europe and North America.

As the home to the NATO Headquarters, Brussels will be hosting participants from:

Central and Eastern Europe (Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Moldavia, Poland, Romania, Russian Federation, Ukraine) ;
Balkan and Caucasus (Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Serbia, Turkey) ;
North Europe and the Baltic states (Denmark, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden) ;
Western Europe (Belgium, Italy, France, the Netherlands, United Kingdom) ;
North America (Canada, US)
22 Individual application from Africa, Asia, Australia and Latin America.

This project aims to achieve diversity, continuity and sustainability. MoNYS 2012 will take place in the capital city of the European Union, and benefits from the fruitful cooperation with the NATO Headquarters in Brussels and Universit� Libre de Bruxelles (ULB). The conference serves as a platform for young delegates with different backgrounds, to share their ideas and network. During this six-day event, students will have the chance to broaden their views on different political approaches, while getting to know each other�s cultures better.

MoNYS 2012 addresses the topics of smart defence, military capabilities, emerging security, fight against cyber attacks, missile defence shield and partnership action plan with the Caucasus countries. The ultimate goal is to deepen NATO�s decision-making process, while creating a platform for students to enhance their consensus-reaching skills, alongside mastering the art of negotiation. Together we embark on the path towards a more peaceful and tolerant world, where citizens are in search of humankind�s ultimate goals: world peace, global security, economic prosperity, scientific improvements and worldwide literacy.

Sri Lanka heeft onlangs een beurzenprogramma (100 beurzen) gelanceerd voor studenten van 48 partnerlanden waaronder Belgi�. Dit is een pilootprogramma dat afhankelijk van zijn succes zal worden uitgebreid. U vindt alle informatie op deze website: http://www.mohe.gov.lk/

2012-06-01 - International Double Degree Peace and Conflict Studies - University of Kent & University of Marburg

The University of Kent and University of Marburg are now accepting applications for the international double degree programme Peace and Conflict Studies for the 2012-2013 year.

This international double award is jointly offered by the School of Politics and International Relations at the University of Kent and the Centre for Conflict Studies at the University of Marburg. Upon successful completion of the programme students will be awarded an MA degree in Peace and Conflict Studies from Kent University and an MA degree in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of Marburg. The two year full-time programme encompasses 120 ECTS credits (240 Kent credits). The programme includes a mandatory internship of at least 10 weeks. The Master dissertation is jointly supervised and marked by academic staff at Kent and Marburg.

This multidisciplinary programme features compulsory modules on theories of conflict, conflict resolution, research methods/methods of conflict analysis and intergroup conflicts. Optional modules cover a wide range of topics including negotiation, mediation, diplomacy, development, critical approaches to peace and conflict studies, international political economy, foreign policy, human rights and terrorism.

Students will spend the first year at Kent University and the second year at Marburg University where courses are taught in English. Thus, international students do not need to speak German to study in Marburg. Alternatively, fluent German speakers can opt to spend the first year in Marburg where compulsory courses will be taught in German and spend the second year in Canterbury. The universities do not operate on a system of deadlines for applying to this programme. We do recommend submitting applications by the end of June 2012. Nonetheless, applications received after this date will still be accepted.
