General university  application requirements

Applicants to the MEPP programme should fill out the online application form, accessible from the International Admissions and Mobility Unit

They should submit this form to the International Admissions and Mobility Unit together with the following documents:

  1. A certified copy of diplomas and transcripts of academic records. All documents should be certified as true and original by either the educational institution that issued them (in a sealed institution envelope) or by the local Belgian diplomatic office. Photocopies and faxes are not accepted.
    Also a document explaining the grading system of the country (i.e. comparing the grades to numeric score) should be added.
  2. Translation of the diploma and official transcripts. If the documents are not in English, French, Dutch or German, these documents should be translated by a registered translator. These documents must be also certified by the educational institution that issued them or by a Belgian diplomatic office.
  3. A passport photograph and a copy of your passport
  4. Statement (and if possible, proof) on previous research experience, experience with writing papers or dissertation
  5. A two-page letter motivating your interest in the programme

All non-EEA applications require an application processing fee of 75 euros. This application fee needs to be paid for each application made, and this fee will be reimbursed upon registration at K.U.Leuven.

Belgian students are required to submit the required application materials to the Faculty of Social Sciences. Submitting one application package is sufficient.

Non-EEA (European Economic Area)-students

should apply before the 1st of March of the year they wish to enroll for the MEPP programme.

EEA (European Economic Area)-students

We prefer to receive the applications of EEA citizens before June 1. However, EEA students with the required background and language fluency may apply until beginning of August.
