Research project:
Re-organising public organisations: shifting theories and practices at meso and micro level
Content of the Research
This project aims at researching reform trends in the public sector at two levels: micro and meso. At meso level, the trend of specialisation (horizontal and vertical) on a governmental level, and related trends of co-ordination (HTM, MTM, NTM) is researched. At micro level the autonomy and guidance and control of individual organisations is investigated, as well as the micro and meso interactions (autonomy-specialisation, guidance-co-ordination) is researched. In general, the research project will address descriptive-empirical (patterns of association between variables), explanatory (causes for patterns, functionalities), theoretical (model and hypothesis building) and methodological (validation research methods) questions.
