Personnel and Change

Objectives

Personnel is of strategic importance for the success of public organizations. The aim of this research is to study personnel issues in government in order to obtain a flexible personnel policy which supports the strategic objectives of the organization. As government is expected to be a model employer in society, this also implies adequate attention to the ‘human being’ in the organization. Specific research objectives deal with the convergence of public and private employment (what is still ‘public’ in public employment) and the responsibility of public personnel policy in society (representativeness, management of diversity, the ageing of the workforce).
