We would like to cordially invite you to participate in a doctoral seminar with anthropologist Faye Ginsburg of New York University. The seminar will take place on September 25th from 10 am to 12 pm in room SW 02.15.

The work of Faye Ginsburg in the areas of indigenous media and disability studies is well appreciated. To make the doctoral seminar as interactive as possible we will limit the number of participants to 10. We would like to kindly request that you present your research during 5-6 minutes during the first hour of the seminar. This will allow prof. Ginsburg to respond during the second hour of the seminar.

In order to familiarize with the work of prof. Ginsburg you may want to attend the 2015 inaugural lecture of the master’s program in anthropology at KU Leuven, organized by the IMMRC (Interculturalism, Minorieties and Migration Research Center). The lecture will take place on September 24that 5 pm in STUK (Naamsestraat 96, Leuven). This lecture is free for all to attend and you can register by sending an e-mail to sofie.derijck@soc.kuleuven.be (also confirm whether you will be staying for drinks afterwards). We would also highly recommend that you consult the following publication prior to attending the seminar:  Faye Ginsburg and Rayna Rapp (2013) Disability Worlds, Annual Review of Anthropology Vol. 42: 53-68.

We ask that you respond to Jori De Coster by email regarding your intention to attend the seminar by August 28th.
