Beyond CFSP

This section covers policy fields developed under the Community framework but which in many cases represent the lynchpin of the EU's foreign policy - trade, sanctions, association and cooperation agreements, development, enlargement, security and justice, etc. These Community policies have shaped the form of EU foreign policy, are in some cases foreign policy in and of themselves, provide the major instruments of EU foreign policy, and stress the blurring of the inside/outside divide in today's political environment. These policies go beyond the usual areas, actors, interests, capabilities and approaches of foreign policy.
