ECLAS covers the EU's official publications and documents of most intergovernmental organizations, commercial, academic and government presses, and selected periodical articles of lasting interest. In ECLAS you will find material on European integration, the political objectives and activities of the Union institutions and material on Member States of the EU, in particular their institutional, legal and socioeconomic structures or technical material necessary to the work of the various Commission departments, ranging from legal documentation to scientific and technical research papers. When you conduct a search it is important to know the terms used by ECLAS. Therefore it is useful to search the ECLAS Thesaurus first and then conduct your search with the found terms.
This database contains research documents produced by the EP's Policy Departments at the request of committees or ther political bodies, and all documents produced by the Parliament's former Directorate-General for Research, going back to 1997.

You can search for documents of EU institutions, through archives of political personalities or important officials, of movements or international organisations which played an integral role in the process which led to the construction of Europe. The HAEU has also formed a substantial collection of oral sources on the history of integration and acquired microfilmed copies of documents held in other archival institutions which illustrate the various Community treaties or enlargement negotiations.
