Workshop organizers

David Geerts was involved in several research projects on user-centred design and evaluation of interactive television. Currently he is taking his doctor's degree on sociability evaluation methods for interactive television. Gunnar Harboe is a researcher at Motorola Labs, where he is working on a Social TV research project designing, developing and testing different prototypes that offer communication features integrated with television. Ways to bring people closer together through media is a recurring theme of his research, which has been published at CHI, EPIC, and EuroITV. Gunnar co-organized the workshop “Social Interactive Television” at EuroITV2007.

Joe Tullio is a researcher at Motorola Labs also working on the Social TV research project. His past research projects range from group support tools to intelligent user interfaces to ambient displays, but share a common theme of promoting communication within groups of friends or colleagues. His work has been published in CHI, UIST, IUI, and Interact. He received his Ph.D. in 2005 from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
