Bieke Zaman

Bieke Zaman is a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Social Sciences and a senior researcher at the Centre for User Experience Research (CUO) .
Her PhD is focused on new methodologies for doing user experience research on digital media with young children. At the CUO, she is mostly involved in projects on user experience research of games with children. Recently, she joined the Belgian team in the EU Kids Online project. As a teaching assistant, Bieke lectures on master courses on usability design, Human Computer Interaction and web developing.

Vero Vanden Abeele

Vero is currently an assistant professor and researcher in User Experience at Group T - Leuven Engineering School. Vero has a Master’s degree in Design Sciences from the Hogeschool Antwerpen. Fascinated by Human- Machine Interaction, she was introduced to Interaction Design at the Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA as a Fulbright scholar.
After gaining professional experience in designing ‘hardware user interaction’ for people with speech disabilities, she returned to the academic world.
Recently, she is conducting doctoral research in the area of tangible computing and inclusive games.

Panos Markopoulos

Panos is an Associate Professor with the User Centred Engineering Group at the Faculty of Industrial Design of the TU/e in the department of Industrial Design.
He has worked as a researcher at Queen Mary University of London and Philips Research Laboratories, Eindhoven. He researches and teaches topics related to user system interaction with ambient intelligence environments and interaction design for children.
He is the co-author of a new book on Evaluating Children's Interactive Products; together with Janet Read, Stuart MacFarlane and Johanna Hoysniemi.

Paul Marshall

Paul Marshall is a post-doctoral researcher in the Pervasive Interaction Lab at the Open University, UK. He has a background in developmental psychology and HCI. His PhD, funded by the EPSRC Equator project, investigated the role of tangibility in learning.
A current research focus is on the design and evaluation of shareable technologies for co-located learning, working and leisure.
He has been a co-organizer for the international workshops, Shareable Interfaces for Learning ’08, Shareable Interfaces ‘07, and Human- Centred Technology ’05. He served on the program committee for TEI ’08.
