Maximize DVB Usage in Flanders (MADUF)

The objective of MADUF is to obtain a maximal valorisation of the DVB-H technology for the Flemish citizens, public authorities and industry. Recent trials in several European countries indicated theeconomical and social potential in the field of mobile television.
To this purpose, within the framework of MADUF, research is being conducted by the operators Belgacom and Telenet, the VRT, the operator of the transmission platform, and the providers of communication solutions Siemens, Option and Scientific Atlanta in collaboration with the academic research centres in order to obtain an optimal model for the provisioning of mobile television bymeans of DVB-H in Flanders.
Within this project CUO is involved in the examination of the user needs and in the translation of these needs in conceptual models for some mobile tv applications. CUO will define guidelines for user-friendly interfaces and will evaluate the developed applications on their usability.
