Dr. Anxo Cereijo Roibás is Senior Lecturer at the University of Brighton and Contract Professor at the Politecnico di Milano and at the University of Milan . He also collaborates with the Nokia Research Center in the Design of future Ubicomp scenarios, and works as a consultant for 3G services at Vodafone. He has organized workshops in international conferences and in universities in Europe, India (NID), Canada (UQAM), Malaysia (Multimedia University & Motorola), Singapore (Temasek) in different areas of HCI design for UbiComp. He is involved in research projects addressing the future of pervasive TV mobile phones, with support of the Vodafone Group Foundation, the British Royal Academic of Engineering and the BT IT Futures Research Centre. He is European Commission expert evaluator for Info Societies research projects and member of the Executive Committee of the British-HIC Group. He has participated in the Development Consortium at CHI 2003.
David Geerts has a master in Communication Science at the K.U.Leuven and a master in Culture and Communication at the K.U.Brussel. He is project leader of the Centre for Usability Research ( CUO), and as such involved in several research projects on user-centred design, a.o. to evaluate the usability of interactive television. Furthermore, he acts as project manager for the post academic courses Webmaster and Usability Design, for which he organizes and moderates several workshops. He is taking his doctor's degree on Sociability of Interactive Television. He is Programme Manager of the recently started Belgian SIGCHI.be chapter.
Prof. Elizabeth Furtado is Chair of SIGCHI in Brazil . She is professor at the MIA, University of Fortaleza , Ce , Brazil since 1989. She manages the laboratory of Software Quality and Usability Process, in the same university. Consultant of Software Quality Process. Researcher in Human Computer Interaction (HCI), more specifically, teaching User Interfaces Design and Evaluation to graduate and undergraduate students. Member of the Programme Committee of the following Conferences related to HCI field since 2001: IHC, CADUI, TAMODIA WIE, IRMA. Member of Editorial Board of the Kluwer international series on HCI since 2002 and International Journal of Information & Communication Technology Education (IJICTE).
Dr. Licia Calvi is a senior researcher at the CUO where she is responsible for setting up new research projects at national and international level. She has been lecturing HCI and Hypertext and Hypermedia in several universities in Europe , e.g. TC Dublin, TU/eindhoven and UniParma. Her research interests include usability and evaluation of (especially) e-learning systems, rhetoric and argumentation in digital media. She is a member of the editorial board of the International Journal of E-learning and the IASTED technical committee on Education.
