Application procedure

 

The application deadline for non-EEA-candidates for the IMPLLA programme 2012-2013 has passed. This means that only non-EEA applicants who have uploaded their KU Leuven application form in the web client before April 13, 2012 can use the procedure below to finalise their application and upload their documents. New applications from non-EEA candidates will not taken into consideration anymore.

For EEA-applicants, the procedure is open till June 17, 2012.

 

As the IMPALLA programme leads to a diploma issued by the K.U. Leuven, candidates have to follow a specific application procedure as described below. In order to facilitate your application we ask you to Send an email to impalla secretariat, with your name, and the date that you submitted the online K.U.Leuven application for IMPALLA.

1. English language test: Take the TOEFL test or IELTS test

3. Complete the IMPALLA Methodology and statistics test

4. Make a PDF of the following requested documents
To convert your documents into PDF format, search the internet for free PDF converstion tools like PrimoPDF or CutePDF.

 
  • A certified copy of all your diplomas and transcripts of academic records

  • Translation of diplomas and transcripts if not in English, Dutch, German or French

  • IMPALLA Specific requirements form
  • IMPALLA Methodology and statistics test
  • TOEFL or IELTS certificates
  • 1 passport photo
  • Copy of passport
 
  • A proof of solvency

  • for non-EEA students a proof of payment (bank transfer) of the application fee

If you are a Belgian applicant, please send all the above documents by email to impalla secretariat, explicitly mentioning that you are Belgian. We also require two reference letters more info. You will then receive further information by email. There is no need to proceed with steps 5-11.

For non-Belgian applicants, please proceed with the following steps:

 

5. Request a Guest Account. An e-mail with your login and password will be sent to you.

6. Download the Application Form using Web application Applicant

Please note that the Application Form, even after having been saved on your local pc, has a validity period that expires three months after downloading. When expired, you need to download a new form.

7. Save the application form, log in on the internet and send it online using the 'submit' button. You will receive a confirmation pop-up if it has been sent succesfully. And you will receive a confirmation e-mail within two work days.

8. Upload the requested documents as separate attachements in pdf-format using the Web application Applicant

As long as documents are missing, your application cannot be processed. Applications without any uploaded core documents and additional documents will be deleted after one month.

9. Send by regular mail, express mail or registered mail

  • the printout of the first page of the Application Form
  • two reference letters
  • the certified copies of your diplomas and transcript of records

10. Follow-up your file with Web application Applicant

At this stage, the International Admissions an Mobility Unit of K.U.Leuven will start the admissions evaluation procedure. The Admission Committee of the Leuven Faculty of Social Sciences will then start the admission procedure to decide whether you will be admitted to the programme. This process can take up to several weeks.

11. Accept/reject the admission offer

As soon as a decision has been taken concerning your application, you will be informed by e-mail. In case of admission to the IMPALLA programme, we will request you to accept the offer before the official letter of admission can be sent.
