Location

Do not go to ‘Hallen’ by car as there are no parking facilities nearby. Go to indicated parking (you have to pay for this parking).

From Zaventem (Brussels international airport):

  • leave the airport and follow direction R0 RING.
  • Take R0 (direction E40 – E19 – E411).
  • Take E40 LUIK – LEUVEN – BRUSSEL.
  • Take E314 GENK – HASSELT – LEUVEN.
  • Take EXIT 15 (LEUVEN).
  • Follow N264.
  • At the third traffic lights, facing the bridge, turn right onto R23 TERVUURSEVEST.
  • At the first traffic lights you come across, turn left onto NAAMSESTRAAT.
  • On your left hand side, you will see parking HEILIG HART.

From Brussels:

  • go to R0 RING.
  • At R0 follow directions E40 LUIK – LEUVEN.
  • Take E40 LUIK – LEUVEN – BRUSSEL.
  • Take E314 GENK – HASSELT – LEUVEN.
  • Take EXIT 15 (LEUVEN).
  • Follow N264.
  • At the third traffic lights, facing the bridge, turn right onto TERVUURSEVEST.
  • At the first traffic lights you come across, turn left onto NAAMSESTRAAT.
  • On your left hand side, you will see parking HEILIG HART.

By foot from parking:

  • when leaving the parking, walk further down the NAAMSESTRAAT.
  • The street will narrow down, continue following it.
  • You will find the HALLEN on your left.

By train (These indications will show you the way from station ‘Leuven’).

  • By foot: 'Hallen’ can be reached by foot in 10-15 minutes.
    • When leaving the station, go to MARTELARENPLEIN. If you are leaving through the main building, the MARTELARENPLEIN will be right in front of you. If you are leaving the station through a tunnel with shops underneath the tracks, the MARTELARENPLEIN will be a little bit to the left. It can be recognized by a tall statue in the middle.
    • When standing in front of the statue, looking away from the station, there will be a shopping street in front of you (BONDGENOTENLAAN).
    • Follow the BONDGENOTENLAAN throughout until it widens up and you see a tall CHURCH in front of you.
    • Go onto the square on the left of the CHURCH (GROTE MARKT).
    • On your left hand side, you will see TOWN HALL, a tall, ancient building with lots of statuettes decorating the façade.
    • Go into the street on the left of TOWN HALL (NAAMSESTRAAT).
    • The HALLEN are on your right hand side after 200 meters.
  • By bus:
    • after leaving the train, enter the large TUNNEL with shops underneath the tracks.
    • When leaving the TUNNEL, the BUS PLATFORMS are on your right hand side.
    • Take BUS 2 in the direction of HEVERLEE.
    • Get off at ZEELSTRAAT/UNIVERSITEITSHALLEN.
